AKAMAI - Pyrenean Sheepdogs
Angela and Mike met this breed around 1990 when friends in Belgium introduced Holly a rescue who had been found tied up to a lamp post.
Both Angela and Mike are keen to help this breed develop in the UK with their main aim to promote health, intelligence, working ability and good temperament. They are serving on the committee of the Pyrenean Sheepdog Club of Great Britain. Angela has written a book on the breed, which should be available soon.

Holly captured their hearts and starred in a number of Angela's books, but it was many years on before they took the first of their brood 'Brontė' into their home. (Photo Left - Holly the first Pyrenean sheepdog to capture our hearts) |

Brontė (Carabrae Notable Edition at Akamai) DOB 18/06/97. She is described on her pedigree as fawn/grey but has been many colours from brindle to blond to her current colour which is a mid grey similar to her father. Brontė won the Best Import at her first show and is a adored wherever she goes. She is a real star, very clever and very special, but unfortunately is not destined to have puppies due to health problems. (Photo Left - Brontė) |

Shelley (Carabrae Rousette at Akamai) DOB 10/07/98 Shelley is a true blond in all senses of the word - and a bit of couch potato when its suits her. She was a late developer but once she came into adulthood her true personality and intelligence came through. Shelley made an appearance at Crufts 2003 to help promote the breed on the Discover Dogs stand. She is also featured in many of Angela's books and is the cover star of one of our booklets Training Your Dog. She currently works at the Study Centre with children and adults who want to learn more about dogs and training. (Photo Left - Shelley) |
