IABTC Instructing Pet Dog Owners

A sound theoretical knowledge will build from the study of this course. Covers: the dog's mind, motivation and reward, teaching skills, methods of training, organising classes, breed differences, behaviour problems, PR and marketing and more. This course is suitable for those who have trained at least one dog to a good standard and are interested in instructing others, or already instructing and wishing to learn more and obtain an IABTC Certified Award. (Provides good evidence for KCAI modules A1, A1, A8, A9 & C1-9)

IABTC Care, Needs and Welfare of Dogs

This course is ideal for those wanting to gain knowledge and obtain an IABTC Certified Award. The course covers: anatomy and physiology, basic grooming, health checks, food and nutrition, reproduction and neutering, first aid, diseases, parastites, mental and physical stimulation, welfare and rights of the dog. (This course provides a great standard of evidence for KCAI module A2)

IABTC Canine Behaviour (Basic Principles)

A great course for anyone interested in what makes a dog tick! It will provide a sound basis for those who live, work or train with dogs. Covers: Evolution and ancestry, inheritied instincts and breed characteristics, social groups, hierarchy, pack behaviour, motivation, survival instincts, drives, temperament, natural responses, communication, social learning, as well as how the dog is affected by homeostasis, development stages, previous experiences etc. This course is suitable for those who have trained at least one dog to a good standard and are interested in instructing others, or already instructing and wishing to learn more and obtain an IABTC Certified Award. (Provides good evidence for KCAI modules A1, A1, A8, A9 & C1-9)

IABTC Canine Behaviour (Problem Behaviour)

This course concentrates on a large range of behaviour problems that occur in domestic dogs. You will study how to recognise problems, identify and understand the causes, and consider behaviour modification plans. This course is ideal for those wanting to gain knowledge and obtain an IABTC Certified Award. (This course provides a great standard of evidence for KCAI module A7)

IABTC Counselling and Advising Pet Owners

This course is will give you a sound theoretical knowledge of how to effectivly counsel and advise pet owners who have problems with their pets. Whilst most people will use this for dog owners, the theory is also very relevant to all pet animal owners (including horses, cats etc). You will be given tried and tested structures to follow to aid you in achieving accurate information and therefore be able to offer the right advice and back up. This course assumes you have a good knowledge of the animals that you chose to work with in a counselling and advisory role. This course is ideal for those wanting to gain knowledge and obtain an IABTC Certified Award. (This course provides a great standard of evidence for KCAI module A6, A7, A8 and A9)
