IABTC Instructing Pet Dog Owners (Practical Competence)
4 Day Course. Open to all levels of instructors. This course will introduce and help develop instructing skills. Covers: techniques of training, reward systems, breed differences, general behaviour problems, lesson planning, teaching skills. Assessment available (for those who feel ready) at 4 levels - Assistant, Instructor, Advanced Instructor, Specialist Instructor. 2012 Course Dates: April 2-5 and October 8-11
IABTC Experienced Instructors (Assessment Preparation)
3 Day course to help experienced instructors evaluate their own teaching, explore new ideas, develop lesson and course plans, and prepare for KCAI or other teaching qualification assessment. 2012 Course Dates: February 8-10 and November 20-22

As part of our clicker & target training range of awards you can become an IABTC C&T Approved Instructor. This award will be evidence of your knowledge and hands on ability in clicker training as well as your ability to teach clicker training to others. To gain this award you will have to first gain IABTC C&T 1,2 and 3 as well as gain an instructor award at one of our 4 day instructor courses.
Underpinning Knowledge
All instructors need to have a thorough understanding of: how dogs learn, breed specific behaviour, how the dog's mind works etc. We have a range of behaviour units that you can study at our centre. Plus several courses that you can study via distance learning. We also have a selection of other Dog Knowledge Seminars
